Hi, I’m Maria Fagan and I am honored and privileged to be pursuing my dream of performing. My well-honed skill and craft lend the necessary ingredients to a well-crafted project.
Through life’s many twists and turns, acting is my constant. I have performed on many stages from Chicago to Los Angeles. Most recently, I’ve discovered a fulfilling a career on big and small screens alike in Los Angeles. I’ve been cast in both comedic and dramatic roles. Since I’m often cast as the woman who maintains order, while protecting those she loves, I often play single moms and/or professional women. A unifying thread that runs deep through all my performances is a strong passionate sense of care and attention.
I have extensive training which includes studying at the Goodman Theatre in Chicago, as well as the Meisner Technique. I keep my cold reading and vocal techniques polished with consistent coaching and attend a variety of commercial technique classes to stay in practice for auditions. Exploring the world of improv helps me to stay extremely present in the moment.
The world is my oyster! I’m a lot more inspired than I was at 25. This new found energy and insight has propelled me to begin collaborating with many of my colleagues and to begin producing my own work. I am very proud of a talk show that was just released, that I helped produce. Looking forward, I’m excited to publish my series of children’s books, as well as start production on a new pilot I’m coproducing.

I Play the Woman Who...
- maintains order, while managing the chaos in every nook and cranny.
- orders a gin and tonic, extra gin...extra tonic.
- follows the script or recipe, until she starts improvising.
- is both Betty Crocker AND the Secret Madam.
- is your best friend’s best friend.
- is the one you trust to deliver the bad news.
- would love to give up and not care, but can’t – not ever!
- holds a lot of very strong feelings in a very strong box.
- is as sensible as a pair of plain black patent-leather stilettos.
- sees things others don’t. Not always fun, but never boring!
- is disproving the doubters every day!
